Refleksi Lim Xue Yi SIB180006



Even I’ve joined quite a lot of camp in my secondary school, yet Sparking Curiosity brought me a whole new perspective about the camp. Before this camp, I was excited and can’t wait to get this camp to get started because this camp is not just any other ordinary camp but a science camp for the kids. This camp means a lot as it can really bring up the kid’s interest in science. The preparation of this camp was challenging as we only had 2 months to make sure everything was well prepared, including the transportation, meals for the students, stationery and apparatus for the experiments. But with our hard works, we manage to prepare these things just in time.

Before the camp, I was so nervous and excited that I can’t sleep well during the night before the camp. I was nervous as I scared that something went wrong during the camp and I was excited to meet those cute kids and teach them about science. On the first day, when I first met the kids, they really amazed me with their young energy and also they are enthusiastic towards the science experiments. they really curious about all the experiments that we conducted and really concentrate on the tutorial class that we conducted. Although my Bahasa Malaysia is not good enough, I tried my best to communicate with them. Those kids are really understanding, they will slow down when they speak to me.

I’m totally surprised by the enthusiasm and kindness showed by the teachers and the student’s parents. They keep bringing their homemade sandwiches, fried banana, muffin and fruits for us to have it throughout these three days. All their foods are so tasty and I've missed those foods even now.

I’m taking this opportunity to thank my partner in the bureau of programme and protocol, Cheryl Hong. She really helped me a lot during this project. I couldn’t do so many tasks in such a short period without her help. Thank you, Cheryl 😊. And of course all my coursemates for making this meaningful science camp being so successful. I love you all.

Lastly, I want to show my appreciation to our advisor of Sparking Curiosity, Dr. Azzu. She helped us in so many ways especially our bureau, bureau of programme and protocol. She sacrificed her time and came to the SK kampong Endah to make sure everything fine and even sponsored us the student’s meal for two days. Thank you, Dr. Azzu. 😊

Before Phase A memorable weekend at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampong Endah during 25 to 28 of April 2019 for out social engagement activity. Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera:)          Pada 26 - 27 April 2019, seramai 19 ahli Material Science telah menjayakan program Sparking Curiosity di SK Kampung Endah, Banting, Selangor. seramai 51 orang peserta darjah 5 dari sekolah rendah tersebut telah menyertai program ini. Tujuan program ini dijalankan adalah untuk mendedahkan pelajar kepada keseronokan mempelajari Sains. Kami membuat beberapa eksperimen menarik bersama pelajar tersebut selama 3 hari kami berada disana.             Pada 26 April, kami telah memulakan program kami dengan sesi ice breaking. setiap kumpulan diberi surat khabar dan pita pelekat untuk membuat jambatan yang terpanjang dan terkukuh. Melalui aktiviti ini saya dapat melihat kerjasama pelajar untuk menyiapkan tugasan dalam masa yang diberi dan mengikuti arahan yang diberikan. SURAYA ANNISSA BINTI ROSLAN SIB180015 Pada 26 April 2019 sehingga 28 April 2019, saya dan rakan-rakan dari Fakulti Sains Universiti Malaya telah berjaya melaksanakan Program Sparking Curiosity yang bertempat di SK Kampong Endah, Morib, Banting. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberi pendedahan kepada pelajar tahun 5 SK Kampong Endah tentang Sains dan menarik minat mereka menggunakan kaedah pembelajaran 'Fun Learning'. Program ini bukan sahaja sejajar dengan Pembelajaran Abad ke-21, namun dapat memupuk sifat ingin tahu dalam diri pelajar yang kini kian pudar searus dengan era kemajuan teknologi.
