Before Phase

A memorable weekend at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampong Endah during 25 to 28 of April 2019 for out social engagement activity. I have never thought this social activity would be very exciting. i remember our first meeting for the activity was on 12th March 2019. On that day, we discussed about the activity that we're going to do at the SK Kampong Endah. We also chose bureau for each individuals. I volunteered myself to be multimedia bureau, i chose it because it was accordance with the experience that i had. Under the supervision of Dr. Azzuliani binti Supangat a few meetings being conducted. After a few meetings we finally settle with our we finally settled with our activities and plans to do in SK Kampong Endah. As a Materials Science students, we conducted science experiments and teach the childrenn about science.

Implementation Phase

Day 1

The first day of the program took place on April 26. We actually had arrived on April 25 at night but the activity started on April 26. Our first activity was aerobics and zumba at the morning to start our day. After that, we did the ice breaking and then followed by the experiments. Activities on the first day went smoothly even though it was very tiring. Children felt very happy and interested in participating in activities. At first, it was kind of hard to arrange children to take part in activities because some of them find it hard to keep quiet. I was so happy because when i introduced myself to the kids and told them i'm from Indonesia they were really glad to hear it. Also, there were few kids that tried to speak bahasa Indonesia to me.

Day 2

On the second day, just as the first day we started our day by doing aerobics and zumba. One of the activities on the second day is to watch movie together. The movie was "COCO", we chose it because the film has positive values ​​that can be learned by children. The children were so happy about the movie. After we watched the movie, we asked them what values that they could learn from the movie. On the afternoon, we continued our experiment and then we ended the day by dancing and singing together.

Day 3

Last daaay! the last day of the activity was the most exciting one. We did the last experiment in the morning, we let the kids conducted the experiment by themself but still under our supervision. They were suprisingly interested in science. I remember one of them told me that she wanted to be a scientist after we did the experiment. After we finished our experiment, we did sharing session. In this session we asked the children how they felt about the activity, also the 'fasi'. I read all the letters and i felt so touched. After all schedules for the last day have been undertaken, we did a closing ceremony. In the closing ceremony, the children performed the dances that we had taught on the past 3 days. Finally, the activity ended. It was really sad to get apart from the children since they were so cute and nice to me:((.

After Phase

More or less, this activity taught me many things. I'm so happy because because of this activity I feel closer to my coursemates and we get to know eachother better. Also, this activity has opened my mind. I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to me to take part in this activity. Lasty, i want to thank Dr. Azzu who had sacrificed her time to become our advisor of this activity. Also big thanks to all of my coursemates who are involved in this activity because without your cooperation, this activity cannot take place.
